Fender Stratocaster, project and long term test

Fender Stratocaster No 1
Dug out of retirement is my Fender Stratocaster, made in Mexico.
I have owned this guitar for 12 years and its showing signs of its age and battle scars but playing it for 5 minutes reminds me why I like it so much. Great unfinished maple neck and comfortable body, so easy to play.
I am going to make this a project guitar and start to upgrade (suggestions welcome).
This is what has been done so far:
* Seymour Duncan Jb Jnr in Bridge
* Fender Texas Specials in Middle and Neck positions
Thats it so far.
Plan is:
* Ageing, will be sanding to look worn
* Change tuners
* New bridge
* Fret dress
* Scratchplate
* Gold Harware
Trying to go for an SRV feel.
Updates to come as I get through them.
Whats your workhorse?
I've had my trusty Fender Mexican Stratocaster for over 10 years now and its gotten a bit of a beating over the years with rehearsing and house moves but still going strong.
This is a 90's Mexican, the build quality isn't 100% but one of the best necks I've played.

Strat and Cat
I have replaced all the pickups with the following:
- Bridge - Seymour Duncan Jb Jnr
- Mid - Fender Texas special
- Neck - Fender Texas special
In short this guitar is great for rock and blues, the Seymour Duncan instantly gives you that maiden super strat tone and the Texas specials (as used on the SRV signature model) give a great twangy blues tone, although they don't handle OD too well.
Dont think I will ever give this one up.

Fender California Cables
Just wanted to do a quick post about the FENDER California Cable series.

California Cables
These are the best cables I've used, come in various lengths and colours and come with a limited limited warranty.
I've been using these for around 3 years and I have NOT had any issues.
